Background:
This phone conversation took place shortly before the Child completely stopped spending any meaningful time with the Petitioner.Before then, the Petitioner had already terminated the Maintenance Expenses Agreement and informed the Respondent that he would stop paying the monthly RMB15,000 payment until the Respondent agreed to sign an amended agreement, which she refused.
That time, the Respondent had already banned the Child from seeing the Petitioner, but that day (a Sunday) the Child slipped away from the Respondent while the Respondent was teaching other students and called the Petitioner to ask him to pick her up. The Petitioner and the Child were then watching a movie at the Petitioner’s residence.
What it shows:
- The Child badly wanted to spend time with the Petitioner
- The Respondent had made the Child sign agreements against her will that restricted or prevented the Child from seeing the Petitioner.
- The Child pleaded with the Respondent to allow the Child to be with the Petitioner, but the Respondent repeatedly refused.
- The Respondent constantly threatened the Child (eg. with the withholding of forgiveness) unless the Child did as the Respondent demanded
- The Respondent specifically stating that she would not allow the Petitioner to see the Child until she has “won the lawsuit against him” but would allow it if the Petitioner continues to pay the monthly payments without requiring her to sign the amended Maintenance Expenses Agreement.
