What the Video shows:
- Our Daughter was trying to escape from the Respondent
- The Respondent physically restraining our Daughter from leaving, and dragging her back into the flat
- Our Daughter in deep stress and conflict
On 12th March 2017, our Daughter called me to escape from the Respondent twice earlier in the day. Each time after picking her up and spending some time with her (including getting her homework done), I would send her back to the Respondent.
Later that night, our Daughter used Grandma’s phone to call me, and she was crying, fearing for her personal safety. She asked me to go fetch her immediately, and I told her I would go immediately to pick her up.
Grandma also messaged me to say that the Respondent was screaming and yelling at our Daughter and throwing things around, and that it was very scary. Grandma also feared she would be beaten by the Respondent again, and asked me to call the Police for her, but I didn’t, instead asking her to make sure she didn’t get involved, and not to follow our Daughter out of the flat again (otherwise she may get locked out again like the previous time on 5th March 2017).
I asked Grandma to pass a message to our Daughter to meet me downstairs like before, and drove immediately to the Respondent’s place.
I arrived in about 5 minutes and was waiting at the lift lobby for our Daughter to come down, but after waiting for a few more minutes, I heard screams from our Daughter from the flat which was on Level 2, just one level above the first floor lobby.
I immediately rushed up the emergency stairways up one floor to the Respondent’s floor. I could see through the fire escape door window that there was a physical struggle between the Respondent and our Daughter and could hear our Daughter screaming and pleading for the Respondent to let her go. I started video recording the event immediately.

(Petitioner opens fire escape door and walks up to Respondent and Daughter)
(Respondent pulling our Daughter by the handle of her schoolbag back towards the flat.)
Petitioner: Let go! Let go of her!
Respondent: What’s wrong now?!
Petitioner: Let go of her! Let go of her!
Respondent: I am going… taking her in right now!
Petitioner: Let go of her!
Respondent: I am taking her in, OK?!
Petitioner: Let go of her!
Respondent: I’m letting her… I’m letting… (panting) Stop it, OK?
Petitioner: Let go of her!
Respondent: Let’s stop it!
Petitioner: I’m filming this!
Respondent: OK, I’m telling you, we’re going home.
Petitioner: Let go of her!
Respondent: We’re going home, stop it!
(Petitioner trying to prevent Respondent from dragging Daughter inside.)
Petitioner: Let go of her!
Respondent: We’re going home…
Daughter: (to Petitioner) It’s okay…
Respondent: We’re going home!
Daughter: (to Petitioner) It’s okay…
Respondent: We’re going home, OK! Hypocrite! Get away from us, OK!
Petitioner: FW? Do you want to go back?
Daughter: (sobs and murmurs)
Respondent: You don’t have to…
Petitioner: What do you want to do, FW?
Respondent: Just get away…
Petitioner: FW?
Respondent: Get out of the way from us, OK? We’ll be fine, OK!
(Respondent manages to get the door open and drags our Daughter in)
(FW gets dragged into the flat and crying)
Daughter: (Sobbing and wiping away her tears) I’m OK…
Respondent: She said she’s OK, alright? Get away from us!
Petitioner: FW? Do you want to come out?
Respondent: She said she’s OK! I won’t ever touch her! I told you already!
(Respondent slams shut the door)
Respondent: Fucking shit! OK? Hypocrite! You crippled manic guy! You slept with my mother! OK?
(FW sobbing)
(Respondent opens the door slightly)
Respondent: 你跟我妈妈上床我们都知道看到了，OK!你不要那么不要脸好吗？
(FW wailing)
