Background:

This was during the first period (before the signing of the Maintenance Agreement and payment of RMB15,000 a month by the Petitioner to the Respondent).

The Petitioner already started having very little access to the Child as the Child was made to stay at the Respondent’s classroom during all her spare time, including at nights as well as weekends.

That day was a Sunday. The Child had done some work that the Respondent wanted her to do, and snuck home to spend time with the Petitioner, who she was not supposed to see. She and the Petitioner were then watching a movie at home. The Respondent had then returned and got into an argument with the Child. The Child wanted to persuade the Respondent to let her spend more time with the Petitioner but the Respondent refused. The Respondent then told the Child that she would give her up and no longer be her mother, and wanted the Child to sign a piece of paper acknowledging that the Respondent would no longer be her mother.

What it shows:
NOTE: Part of this incident (from when the Respondent came into the room with a knife onwards) was originally also caught on video by the Petitioner, but the Child accessed the Petitioner’s phone and deleted that video that night (unclear whether it was at the Respondent’s instructions).
